Agent compatibility
Compatibility is product- and release-specific. A matching agent version alone does not make an unreleased product capability available.
| Product | Shared agent/contract | Published consumer | Live inference |
|---|---|---|---|
| QA Studio | Use the released product compatibility notice | Verify in the product release | Only when explicitly released |
| Flow | Candidate prepared | Not published | Not available |
The prepared candidate includes secret-free status plus product-neutral local configuration for all five provider IDs. Cloud keys use a hidden agent-terminal prompt and fixed-endpoint verification. Flow access is default-denied per provider and requires separate local consent in addition to login, entitlement and pairing; configuration alone never grants Flow access. The separate Provider Preview is not a workflow run and, once published, is capped at 32 output tokens. None of this by itself releases the Preview or Flow workflow inference.
The intended five-provider parity target is Ollama, the LM Studio runtime (including the separate Bionic app), OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini. The stable contract ID remains lmstudio. “Parity” means each provider must meet the same published readiness, cancellation, credential-safety, and product-release checks; it does not mean every model or feature is available now.
If versions do not match, update only through a published release and restart the agent. Do not use preview packages or private artifacts as a workaround.
