LM Studio / Bionic

Who is it for?

LM Studio is the local-provider runtime for people who run models on their own device. Bionic is a separate agent app powered by the LM Studio runtime; it is not merely a renamed LM Studio desktop app. XYVA keeps the stable provider ID lmstudio for compatibility.

Prerequisites

Have the local service and a suitable model available in the same operating-system account that runs the XYVA Agent. Models downloaded by another macOS user are not discovered automatically. Product support still depends on released readiness.

Check readiness

The approved endpoint is the OpenAI-compatible service on http://127.0.0.1:1234. Start it explicitly from LM Studio/Bionic or with lms server start --port 1234 --bind 127.0.0.1, then use the approved agent or product status view. Do not enable CORS or bind to 0.0.0.0 for normal XYVA use. A contract or adapter marked prepared is not a published product runtime.

Choose a model

Select only from models the approved product flow presents. Do not infer compatibility from a model name alone.

Limits

Your device and the released product capability determine availability. Installing or opening Bionic alone does not prove that the local API server is running. Flow workflow inference is not available. After the matching release, the separate Provider Preview may issue one explicit neutral request capped at 32 output tokens; it remains invite-only, is not a workflow run, and requires the released Flow-capable Agent, entitlement, product-specific pairing, and an explicit local lmstudio grant.

Cancellation and errors

Use the product's cancel action. Do not expose the local service or change network settings to work around an error.

Privacy and credentials

The service is local to your device. Keep credentials, logs, and connection details out of public channels.

Troubleshooting

Run lms server status, confirm that the model appears in the local library, and consult the approved status view. Share only non-confidential diagnostics with support.
